The Lower Platte South Natural Resources District met in a virtual emergency session Thursday and approved a building licensing agreement with the City of Lincoln for use of the former fire station #10 for a short term decontamination site.
The city is planning on treating personal protective equipment used during the COVID-19 outbreak from Lincoln area medical facilities with an Ultraviolet light process. This would be the second such facility the city is planning.
City officials requested quick action so the City can begin preparations at the site for an expected arrival in the third week of April of the UV equipment. Board members unanimously approved the licensing agreement with several members noting that it is good use of a public building for the public good.
