Influenza A accounted for 59 percent of lab positive cases, this being primarily H1N1pdm09 strain. Influenza B made up 41 percent of lab positive cases. Seven flu-associated deaths have been identified in adults over 50 years of age in Lancaster County. No pediatric flu-associated deaths have been reported in Lancaster County.
Nationally, laboratory-confirmed flu activity as reported by clinical labs continues to decrease sharply and is now low. Influenza-like illness, while lower than last week, is still elevated.
