A man is slashed across the arm after an altercation.

Lincoln Police Officer Luke Bonkiewicz said officers were sent to St. Elizabeth hospital around 6:45 AM Sunday after they were notified of a patient with a stab wound.

The 64-year-old victim explained to officers that he was stabbed after defending himself from an assault from a 56-year-old Bryn Rusco.

The victim said Rusco had attacked him after being asked to leave a gathering at his residence near the intersection of 25th and R streets Saturday.

“This further angered Mr. Rusco, who then began punching the victim in the face several times,” said Bonkiewicz.

The victim reported he took out a pipe to defend himself, which prompted Rusco to slash at him with a knife, causing a non-life-threatening, 3-4 inch wound across his left arm.

Witnesses confirmed the account.

Rusco was located around 11 PM Sunday evening and arrested for 2nd-degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
