A suspect is apprehended in an attic crawl sprawl space after running from officers.

Lincoln Police Luke Bonkiewitz says officers were called to the 1200 block of Hill street just after noon Tuesday on reports of a suspicious vehicle that had been honking its horn for several hours.

When they arrived, they observed the driver to be 29-year-old Mariah Rodriguez.

While officers were checking to see if Rodriguez had any warrants, another individual, 41-year-old Randy Whiteley, approached the vehicle and began to lock it.

When officers told Whiteley they were conducting an investigation on the vehicle, he became upset and left the area, which officers allowed as there was no violation at the time.

Rodriguez was found to have an outstanding warrant but when officers approached her they noticed a bag of suspected methamphetamine and two syringes in the vehicle.

At around this time, Whiteley returned.
