Lincoln Police Officer Erin Spilker says police were sent to the 1400 block of F street just after 8 yesterday evening on reports of a disturbance.
On arrival, they witnessed several people arguing and made contact with 32-year-old Payton Lasley.
“Lasley said he had a knife and he pulled up his shirt to show the officer,” said Spilker. “At that time the officer observed the butt of a gun concealed inside the waistband of his sweatpants.”
The gun turned out to be a .22 caliber rifle that had its butt cut off, making it an illegally modified firearm.
A further search revealed a syringe with suspected methamphetamine in Lasley’s sweatpants pocket.
Lasley was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of a short-rifle, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and carrying a concealed weapon.
