For the first time, the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development and other partners in the 25-agency EmployLNK network will hold a Drive Through Career Fair for individuals seeking employment and employers looking to add to their workforce.
The event will happen on Tuesday, May 5 at Gateway Mall from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. While businesses will not actually be there, representatives will be distributing information on behalf of employers, including a one-page flyer about their organization and open positions.
The process will be simple and safe—drive up to the parking lot east of Olive Garden at 63rd and O streets and grab your packet of information. While this will be different than a traditional career fair, it is hoped it can achieve the same desired results—helping employers and employees find each other when they need it most.
Fields such as manufacturing, office, construction, healthcare and others will be represented. Nearly 500 people are expected to drive through to gather and share entry level through management career information.
