A woman is arrested for attempting to break apartment property.
Lincoln Police Officer Luke Bonkiewicz says officers were sent to an apartment complex in the 1600 block of D St. just after 9:30 pm Wednesday after getting reports of a woman kicking holes in the building.
Officers contacted multiple witnesses who told them 18-year-old Angella Banzi was attempting to break glass panes on a sliding elevator door with her fists, feet, and a snow shovel.
“According to the property manager, she had damaged five panes of glass and the sliding elevator doors across three floors of the building,” said Bonkiewicz.
Witnesses also told officers Banzi punched a resident in the head when he attempted to stop her, though there were no injuries.
The owner of the apartment stated Banzi was caught on camera damaging an apartment door the day before.
She was arrested for two counts of criminal mischief.
In total, Banzi caused an estimated $1,000 in damage.
Bonkiewicz added that Banzi was also cited on April 27th for disturbing the peace.
In that incident, Banzi threatened a man with a brick after he asked her not to pick flowers in the area.
