Officers struggle to take a suspect into custody after he’s observed picking fights and screaming at cars.
Officer Luke Bonkiewicz says officers were called to the Pump & Pantry around 1:30 am Monday on reports of a disturbance.
An employee told officers that a man, later identified as 34-year-old Jeremiah Coleman, was screaming at cars in the parking lot and confronting customers.
After officers observed Coleman, they determined him to be intoxicated and attempted to place him into custody.
“At this point, he assumes a fighting stance with his arms and his hands up and declares ‘I Will never go willingly into handcuffs’,” said Bonkiewicz.
He added that at one point the exchange got intense enough that officers pointed a stun gun at Coleman.
Eventually, officers were able to diffuse the situation, but once placed into cuffs Coleman struggled with officers all the way to jail.
“It took 5 correctional officers and 2 police officers to maintain control of Mr.Coleman,” said Bonkiewicz.
In the end, Coleman was arrested for disturbing the peace, possession of a controlled substance, and 2nd-degree trespassing.
