Police arrest a man believed to responsible for vandalizing multiple locations in Downtown Lincoln.
The Lincoln Police Department reports that Saturday, at around 8 pm, an employee at the Jimmy Johns at 101 N 14th alerted officers that someone was spray painting their windows and provided them with a description.
Officers soon made contact with 39-year-old Zachariah Murphy, who was seen walking in the area.
Murphy was uncooperative but officers eventually located a can of spray paint in Murphy’s backpack in the same color as Jimmy John’s vandalism.
Further investigation uncovered that 5 other businesses were tagged with the same paint color and style as the one at Jimmy Johns.
Other tagged include the Lincoln Flats Condominium, The Copper Kettle, 1867 Bar, Duffy’s Tavern, and Junction Nightclub.
Murphy was arrested for 6 counts of vandalism and Failure to Comply.
