Police have arrested a suspect in a Tuesday burglary at a local dealership where the suspect got away with money, a vehicle and a handgun.
Lincoln Police Officer Erin Spilker said that around 2:15 am Thursday an officer observed the stolen vehicle, a 2013 Black Dodge Dart, parked in the 5300 block of South 53rd Street with plates belonging to another vehicle.
“The officer remembered that there had been reports of a male driving this vehicle with those fictitious plates throughout the city waving a gun around starting about 10:30 the night before,” said Spilker.
Spilker said the vehicle was also involved in a police pursuit on 25th and O streets around the same time Wednesday.
The officer managed to observe a man who appeared to be sleeping in the driver’s seat.
After a brief struggle, 21-year-old Jesan Edmiston was taken into custody for theft and possession of a stolen firearm.
More charges are expected.
