The Lincoln Convention and Visitors Bureau announced a fun opportunity for local families to enjoy a staycation and others to experience a day trip to Lincoln.
Throughout the month of June, “Lincoln Bingo,” will take place, a one-day road trip and way to see a variety of sights and attractions throughout the area. The five-by-five square bingo sheet was designed with safety in mind as those that participate can drive to all locations, snap a photo and be eligible to win prizes.
“This is a great way for families to spend time together and see the numerous places that make Lincoln and Lancaster County a draw for so many visitors each year, especially when it comes to a staycation or those outside the Lincoln area seeking day trip options,” according to Jeff Maul, executive vice-president, Lincoln Convention and Visitors Bureau. “While our travel opportunities look a little different this year, we’re encouraging people to have fun with our Lincoln Bingo while remaining safe and healthy.”
Lincoln continues to be a hit with visitors and those in the immediate area, with Lincoln recently named as the fifth-best city in the country for a staycation according to WalletHub. The findings gave Lincoln high marks for its access to walking and biking trails, affordability and other metrics.
“Pack your car full of snacks, stay hydrated with water and don’t forget your PPE!” Maul adds.
To participate, people are encouraged to take pictures of each item they visit on the Lincoln Bingo card on social media by using the hashtag #LNKRoadTrip. The card can be printed out at https://www.lincoln.org. Additional rules include:
- Everything on the card must be in Lincoln or Lancaster County
- Pictures must be taken safely. Pictures can also be used on the CVB’s social media pages
- Have fun, stay safe and no parking illegally to take pictures!
Two winners will be announced on Tuesday, June 30 with prizes involved for the winners. All entries must be emailed to Tracie Simpson at tsimpson@lincoln.org.
