A second juvenile has been taken into custody concerning an armed robbery at a southern Lancaster County home where $15,000 in jewelry and medication was taken.
Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner said that a 16-year-old was arrested and lodged at the Lancaster County Youth Services Center Thursday after investigators examined “digital and video evidence” related to the armed robbery of a home near the intersection of 63rd and Yankee Hill Road Wednesday afternoon.
Two juvenile victims home at the time of the robbery told police that around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, two men in hooded sweatshirts entered the home through an unlocked door and pushed one of them to the floor.
The victims said the invaders took a safe in the kitchen cabinet and left the home.
The safe contained jewelry, prescription drugs, and an Apple iPhone.
Wagner said Thursday that a 17-year old suspect was detained after investigators tracked the iPhone stolen during the robbery with GPS.
