Murder Investigation at 13th And Washington Street.

Lincoln Police are investigating the death of a 48-year-old man who died from gunshot injuries at 5:04 a.m. Monday.

Police were called to the 1300 block of Washington Street and found the 48-year-old man had died at the scene.  This is a murder investigation.

Police are working to notify the family of the victim.  Chief Jeff Bliemeister says, “We are keeping them in our thoughts and we thank the public for respecting their privacy.”

Investigators are interviewing witnesses to determine what led up to the shooting.  There were two people at the scene when officers arrived.  One person was taken in for questioning.  Details of what led to the shooting have not been released.

Police secured the residence and investigators continue to process the crime scene.  Residents should expect law enforcement in the area to assist crime scene technicians as they continue to search the area.  Once the victim’s family is notified, there will be more information released regarding the victim.
