A traffic stop led to a narcotics arrest around 2 a.m. Tuesday, July 28th and 48th and O Street.
Police stopped a 2010 Hyundai Sonata for driving with no headlights on. The officer saw a fake firearm between the driver’s seat and the center console and the driver allowed the officer to search the vehicle.
Officers found several containers with small amounts of methamphetamine, a backpack containing a scale and drug paraphernalia, an air-soft pistol and a sword with a 17 inch blade.
25 year old Jose Valdez-Lopez was booked for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of money while violating a drug law, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying a toy gun and operating a motor vehicle with no headlights at night.
A 26 year old passenger, Ashley Laravie was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance as there was a baggie containing meth located in the driver’s side rear door, where she was seated.
