No Ruling – Yet – In City of Lincoln v Madsens Bowling And Billiards Over DHM

By News Aug 6, 2020 | 5:36 AM

A Lancaster District Court judge will issue a ruling later regarding the civil case involving Madsen’s Bowling and Billards. That case was heard yesterday afternoon.

Owner Benjamin Madsen refused to close for 24 hours for violating a directed health measure Saturday set by the Lancaster County Health Department.

Counsel for the pool and bowling hall argued Interim Health Director Pat Lopez didn’t have jurisdiction to close the business.

The city has cited several reports where customers weren’t socially distanced, had groups larger than eight and were not masking. It’s unclear when the district court will rule on the case.
