Arrests Made In July Hate Crime Investigation

Lincoln Police were called to the Bes Torq lot near 70th and McCormick on July 11th for an assault.  A 23 year old man reported he was watching people race when he was approached by a woman who said he was not allowed to be there because he “was not a white American”.

The woman left and soon returned with several men who started hitting and kicking the victim’s vehicle.  The victim said the group blocked him inside and then later pulled him from his vehicle and assaulted him.  Police report the victim had injuries consistent with the assault.  he was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Investigators processed the scene and interviewed witness and found video evidence of the assault.  Investigators were able to identify the people responsible.  28 year old Stacy Saddlemire was cited for assault and hate intimidation.  She was heard making comments in video evidence that were derogatory and hateful toward the victim.  Her fingerprints were also found on the victim’s vehicle.

26 year old Tyler Lieth was cited for disturbing the peace for fighting.  18 year old Eric Dissmeyer was cited for disturbing the peace by fighting and injure or destroy property of another.

There were discrepancies found in the witness and victim statements about the victim’s involvement in the initial fight.  The victim was also cited for disturbing the peace by fighting.
