#LNK Parks and Rec Invites You To Virtual Open House For Wilderness Park Master Plan

By News Aug 26, 2020 | 10:27 AM

Lincoln Parks and Recreation invites the public to participate in a survey and virtual open house for the Wilderness Park Master Plan at lincoln.ne.gov (keyword: wilderness).  The open house is available until September 14 and outlines previous and planned projects for Wilderness Park.

Visitors can review background information, master plan goals and discussion topics, and provide comments in an interactive mapping process.  There is also a two-minute survey and information about upcoming events.  Two in-park events will allow residents to view displays of proposed trail kiosks, hike trails to review navigation sign options and view other proposed signage:

  • Saturday, August 29, 9 to 11 a.m., Day Camp Trailhead at the north end of the park, South First and old Van Dorn streets
  • Sunday, September 6, 3 to 5 p.m., 14th Street Trailhead, just north of Rokeby Road

Information gathered from the virtual open house will be used to develop a list of potential improvements in Wilderness Park.  This winter, the public will be invited to review the list and share their thoughts on project priorities.  The final product of the User Experience Master Plan will be an annotated map showing future projects and a prioritized list of future projects in Wilderness Park.
