A scare for a 17 year old girl Tuesday afternoon who was at Pentzer Park at 1722 N 26th Street. When police arrived, they saw a man being restrained by two people. Police were able to take the man into custody and they saw a knife in his hand.
Police interviewed the 17 year old girl who said she was at a bus stop when she saw a man staring at her and then pulled out a knife and threatened her with it. She ran home and reported this to family members. The girl’s 44 year old uncle and his 37 year old fiance went back to the bus stop to see if the man was still there. They confronted the man about pulling the knife on the girl.
The man then pulled out the knife from the his waistband and struggled with the uncle. During the struggle, the uncle was cut with the knife several times. The female tried to restrain the man and was cut on the hand.
Ryan Wiess, 42, was arrested for two counts of 2nd degree assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony and for making terroristic threats.
Both victims were treated at the scene for minor injuries. Wiess was taken to a hospital for treatment for cuts and then taken to jail.
