Lincoln Police were called to North 64th and Gregory Avenue on Saturday, September 5th at 3:23 a.m. after they received a call of a person trying to open car doors. Police found 20 year old Joshua Patten inside a vehicle that didn’t belong to him.
After officers put Patten in handcuffs, they tried to put in inside a cruiser. Police explained the reason why he was being detained and repeatedly ordered him to sit in the vehicle. Patten refused the commands and when they tried to seat Patten, he began kicking at the officers. One officer was kicked in the chest twice. During the struggle, the officer also received a cut to his upper lip.
Patton was eventually booked for assault on a officer and several counts of larceny from autos.
