The Lincoln Police Department responded to three accidents overnight Monday in Lincoln – two resulted in deaths.
The first culminated from a disturbance according to Captain Jake Dislaver.
“About 10:30 pm, LPD responded to a disturbance or a fight near 12th and Belmont. During the course of the investigation there was a confrontation between several individuals.”
Dilsaver said there had been a disagreement between a resident in the area and a group of people and the situation escalated.
“During the confrontation that a 41-year-old Lincoln man was struck by a vehicle where he was transported to a Lincoln hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.”
The investigation continues and no arrests have been made.
Later on, LPD received a call regarding a traffic accident at 27th & Randolph.
“A 31-year-old Lincoln man was operating his motorcycle southbound on 27th street and collided with a sedan driven eastbound through the intersection,” Dilsaver said.
Dilsaver reports the motorcycle rider sustained fatal injuries.
“The 31-year-old motorcycle operator succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
Early this morning, LPD is investigating a burglary at the convenience store at 40th & A just after 4 this morning. A glass door was shattered and items stolen.
Few other details are known at this time and the investigation continues.
At about the same time LPD responded to a car pedestrian accident at 9th and J. The pedestrian sustained non life-threatening injuries and is being treated at a local hospital.
