Lincoln Police are searching for those responsible at firing shots at vehicle Monday night. Just before 9 p.m., officers were flagged down at the LPD Substation at 1501 N 27th Street. A 34 year woman said she left Walmart on North 27th with her 13 and 17 year old sons and were followed by an SUV and a 4 door vehicle. The woman said when she noticed she was being followed, the SUV pulled up beside her at 27th and Cornhusker and started yelling at them . The woman then saw that one of the passengers pulled out a gun and pointed it at them. The son who was in the back seat ducked down as a shot was fired into the vehicle.
The SUV and the 4 door vehicle took off. The woman reported she thought the SUV responsible was possibly on the top of the bridge at N 27th and Theresa with car trouble. Officers found the stalled SUV and contacted the occupants but learned that several others had ran from from the area.
Officers spoke with the occupants who remained, witnesses and searched the area. No one was hurt and no arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
