Offutt Airforce base is relocating part of its services to unused buildings at Lincoln’s airport.
Director of Communications and Customer Engagement Rachel Barth tells KLIN News they could see around 700 people working.
“We have some old military hangers that Goodyear occupied them as a distribution centers,” she said. “They are using one of them and converting that into some office space and converting some other space.”
Barth says Offutt is expected to start services in February and March.
“They won’t be necessarily coming over to the terminal. Just seeing those people on the west side of the airport just helps. It will help boost the economy and put some life in the old buildings and bring it to life.”
