A man suspected of breaking into an apartment at 11th and N at 6:30 Wednesday morning is in custody. The victim heard a loud noise in the living area and went to investigate. He found a man inside his apartment holding his luggage. When confronted, the man ran out the front door.
Officers were given a physical description of the suspect. Officers found a broken window that was used to gain entry with a shoe print on it. The victim also reported a video game system and games were taken from a cabinet along with the luggage. The apartment manager was able to provide officers video of the man leaving the scene.
Later Wednesday, the apartment manager saw the suspect return to the building and called police. Officers took Jeremy Pickinpaugh into custody around 12:30 p.m. Officers compared the design on Pickinpaugh’s shoes which matched the prints at the scene. Pickinpaugh was booked for burglary.
