On Friday, October 2nd, Lincoln Police saw 28 year old Cyrus Thompson riding a bike near 21st and F. Officers knew he had several out of county felony warrants and followed him to the U Stop at 21 and K. There he rode up to a vehicle with two people inside. When officers approached, Thompson started running but was soon tackled. During a struggle, officers saw Thompson was clutching something in his hand. Inside was a substance that tested positive as 1 gram of methamphetamine.
Officers took Thompson into custody and they found another baggie of suspected meth. Officers also found a fixed dagger in a sheath hanging under his clothing. The blade measured more than 3 1/2 inches in length. Thompson also had a scale, pipes and other paraphernalia and was booked for possession of a controlled substance, carrying a concealed weapon and for resisting arrest. He was also taken into custody for the outstanding warrants. Thompson was also wanted in connection to a hit-and-run accident in June of 2019. He was cited for leaving the scene of an accident and for the violation of a traffic control device.
Police also contacted the two people inside the vehicle that Thompson was speaking with. When an officer approached the vehicle, they saw a woman holding a glass pipe in her hand. The pipe was tested and showed positive results for methamphetamine.
28 year old Deanna High was booked for possession of a controlled substance.
