On Friday, October 2nd, Lincoln Police saw 28 year old Cyrus Thompson riding a bike near 21st and F.  Officers knew he had several out of county felony warrants and followed him to the U Stop at 21 and K.  There he rode up to a vehicle with two people inside.  When officers approached, Thompson started running but was soon tackled.  During a struggle, officers saw Thompson was clutching something in his hand.  Inside was a substance that tested positive as 1 gram of methamphetamine.

Officers took Thompson into custody and they found another baggie of suspected meth.  Officers also found a fixed dagger in a sheath hanging under his clothing.  The blade measured more than 3 1/2 inches in length.  Thompson also had a scale, pipes and other paraphernalia and was booked for possession of a controlled substance, carrying a concealed weapon and for resisting arrest.  He was also taken into custody for the outstanding warrants.  Thompson was also wanted in connection to a hit-and-run accident in June of 2019.  He was cited for leaving the scene of an accident and for the violation of a traffic control device.

Police also contacted the two people inside the vehicle that Thompson was speaking with.  When an officer approached the vehicle, they saw a woman holding a glass pipe in her hand.  The pipe was tested and showed positive results for methamphetamine.

28 year old Deanna High was booked for possession of a controlled substance.
