Lincoln Fire and Rescue and Lincoln Police were called to the south side of the Capitol Building at 14th and K Street around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30th. A witness reported seeing two people lighting a red ball cap on fire. The flames were about five feet tall.
When Lincoln Fire and Rescue arrived, there was no longer a fire but they did see burn marks on the sidewalk where the fire had been. Police spoke with several witnesses and they continue to analyze video evidence from the scene.
