On Monday, October 5th just before 6 p.m., police saw a vehicle in the area of 40th and Saint Paul. Officers recognized the driver as 36 year old Jasper Falkner who was known to have a felony warrant and was also wanted on other misdemeanor warrants. Officers believed that Falkner saw the officers and started to drive off before a traffic stop was initiated.
Falkner’s vehicle took off at a high rate of speed. Falkner then pulled into the back of his residence and was taken into custody without incident. Falkner had a suspended license and his vehicle was towed. Police searched the vehicle and found a backpack with a digital scale and a metal vital and scoop with white reside. That tested positive for methamphetamine. Officers also located several credit/debit cards, social security cards and various ID’s that did not belong to Falkner. Two of the credit cards belonged to a 26 year old male who had reported that his vehicle had been broken into while at a gym on N 26th on August 21st. The victim stated that his window was broken to gain entry to his vehicle and his wallet was stolen. His cards were used at Super Saver and Kwik Shop for a total amount of about $225.
Officers are still waiting for video of those transactions. Falkner was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a financial transaction device, driving during suspension and for the outstanding warrants. The other credit cards and ID’s found in his case are still being investigated to see if they were also reported stolen.
