Lincoln Police were called to investigate a burglary near 10th and A Street around 6:15 p.m. Thursday. A woman reported she saw five juvenile males kick open an apartment door and they appeared to be burglarizing it. Police contacted the resident who said his door had been kicked in and $100 had been taken from a safe.
Officer searched the area and witnesses provided a description and possible location of the suspected boys. The five were found at a nearby apartment. Police talked to the juveniles and determined they had been involved in the burglary, either by kicking the door down, entering the building, searching for valuables or as a look-out.
Four of the juveniles, two 16 year old’s, a 14 year old and an 8 year old were released to their parents for the burglary. One of the 14 year olds had an outstanding juvenile warrant and was placed at the Youth Services Center.
