Lincoln police noticed a man known to have a revoked driver’s license behind the wheel of a car near 10th and W Brit around 5:45 Monday afternoon. Officers followed the vehicle and saw 27 year old John Belot pull into a residence where officers stopped him. He was taken into custody without incident.
Belot’s vehicle was towed due to his license status. During a search of the vehicle, officers found a back pack that contained a 9mm loaded handgun, 16.5g of a crystalline substance that tested positive for meth and a scale. The meth had a street value of $1,600. Belot was arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of a firearm during a drug law violation and driving during revocation.
