On October 27th around 10:30 p.m., police responded to the report of a robbery that occurred in the area of 10th and E Street. A 61 year old male reported he was trying to sell a gaming system on Facebook Marketplace and had a prospective buyer. The buyer asked him to meet in this area and was seen walking from behind one of the apartment buildings which he felt was unusual. The victim said that the man then said he had been ripped off before and wanted to make sure the gaming system worked before he turned over the money. He said he wanted to take the system up to his apartment and said the victim could accompany him.
Once inside the building, the man pulled out a handgun and the victim fled the area out of fear. The victim was able to keep the gaming system in his possession during this incident. The victim returned home before calling police and there was an approximately 30 minute delay to officers responding the area of the robbery. Officers canvassed the area, processed the scene for evidence, and are requesting video from anyone in the area.
