Man Walks Away From Train-Vehicle Accident Sunday Morning

Lincoln Police continue to investigate a train-car accident around 1:48 a.m. Sunday, November 1st.  Officers were called to North 33rd and Cornhusker Highway and found 20 year old Carter Wooden at the scene.  Wooden stated he was heading north on North 33rd as a train was moving across the tracks.  Wooden said he tried to break but drove into the side of the train.  He suffered a minor facial injury but there is extensive damage to his vehicle.

Officers observed signs of alcohol intoxication.  Based on Wooden’s statements and the officer’s observations, officers obtained a blood draw for analysis and cited and released Wooden for negligent driving. Further charges are possible pending the results of the blood test.
