More Arrests After Drugs And Guns Found Inside Home November 1st

More arrests are made after drugs and weapons were found inside a home on November 1st in the 3400 block of North 48th Street following a hang-up 911 call.

At that time, 47 year old Jose DeLira was arrested after drug paraphernalia, $4,521 in U.S. currency, $5,660 in counterfeit U.S. currency, 4.41 pounds of marijuana, .46 pounds of an unknown white substance, 2.7 grams of a substance that pre-tested positive for methamphetamine, 4.3 grams of an unknown substance, 159.5 pills of varying Schedule II, III, and IV controlled substances, 34.5 unidentifiable pills, and 6 handguns and 6 long guns were fond inside the home.   Officers cited and lodged DeLira for Possession of Controlled Substance, Manufacture with Intent to Deliver Controlled Substance, Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, Possession of Illegal Firearm, and Possession of Money While Violating Controlled Substance Statute

As investigators continued this investigation, they determined that 36 year old Joseph Gandara lived in a bedroom of the residence as well.  In his bedroom, officer located 59 Oxycontin pills and 83 Diazepam pills inside a bottle with no label on it.  They also found a large clear plastic bag with a white powdery substance weighing 28 grams and believed to be methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia.  Investigators contacted Gandara on November 9th, who was found to be in jail on an unrelated charge.  He was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, Possess Firearm During a Felony, Possession of a Short Shotgun, two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance  and Evading Drug Tax Stamp.

During the initial contact, 45 year old Roger Vaughn was contacted by police as a resident of the apartment, however, left the area as the warrant was being served.  Vaughn turned himself in at the jail on November 10th just after 6am.  Vaughn was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Manufacture/Deliver/Possess Controlled Substance, Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, Possession of a short Shotgun, and Possession of Money While Violating a Drug Law.
