During the month of October 2020, twenty-two people were killed in traffic crashes on Nebraska roadways, according to data collected by the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
- These 22 fatalities occurred in 21 fatal crashes.
- Ten of the eighteen vehicle occupants killed were not using seatbelts, five were using seatbelts, and three
had seatbelt usage marked as unknown. - 12 of the fatalities were in rural locations*.
- There were four fatalities on the interstate, ten on other highways, and eight on local roads.
- One of the fatalities were pedestrians.
- Three of the fatalities were motorcyclists.
