Be A Santa To A Senior: Connect With A Senior In Need To Safely Provide Gifts This Holiday Season

By News Dec 4, 2020 | 5:29 AM

Lincoln-based Home Instead owners, Andy and Brittney Gorman, are giving back to local senior communities in need this holiday season through Be A Santa To A Senior (BASTAS). Due to COVID-19, this year’s BASTAS looked a little different to keep senior living communities safe.

“We think in 2020 with all that’s going on, we know that seniors are isolated,” Andy told KLIN News. “They can’t see their families.  They’re isolated in their rooms.  We’re still excited to provide gifts to seniors.”

Donations will allow senior communities to follow their own safety protocol within each of their facilities. The gifts purchased from these donations will be distributed by the facility staff, who will be in the proper PPE to keep themselves and their community safe and who have first-hand knowledge of the greatest needs within their communities.

In place of donation trees throughout the Lincoln community, they are donating directly to local senior communities and organizations totaling $23,640.

“At the end of the day, we want our seniors to be safe and feel loved this holiday season,” said Gorman.
