By News Dec 7, 2020 | 11:22 AM

Lincoln Fire and Rescue were called to 8211 South Street Saturday at 11 a.m. on a report of a person with back pain on top of a 60 foot water tower.

LFR Captain Ron Truba climbed an external enclosed ladder and found the 31 year old patient lying on the top of the tower just off the ladder. LFR then worked to assemble a rope system on the ground as members treated and stabilized the man on top of the tower.  A stokes basket was then raised and the patient was secured inside and lowered to the ground.  The entire operation took about an hour.

The injured person was then taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.  The patient was working for a company hired to clean the water tower and suffered a back spasm once he reached the top.
