A Lincoln man kept police busy Tuesday after causing one disturbance after another.

Officers were called to AAA Pawn at 2541 N 11th around 7:30 for a disturbance.  38 year old Charles Danczak had returned to the store after being banned.  He was causing a disturbance and was smoking in the store despite being told to leave several times.

Officers were familiar with Danczak as they had received several calls involving where he was banned from businesses for his behavior.  While officers were on their way, another caller stated Danczak left in a vehicle after hitting another parked in the lot.  Dispatch then advised Danczak had arrived at the Kwik Shop at 14th and Adams and was causing problems.  When officers arrived they spoke with Danczak but he ignored officer’s orders to stop, got in his vehicle and took off at a high rate of speed.

Officers then responded to two other disturbances, one at Shell Gas Station at 1107 Belmont and Family Dollar at 2541 N 1th Street where he assaulted two employees..

Officers then drove to Danczak’s home at 11th and Garber and talked with his mother who said he refused to come out.  Officers eventually spoke with Danczak for a short time at the door and noticed he was highly intoxicated.  He then slammed the door on officers.  The homeowner allowed officers inside where they tried to convince Danczak to surrender.  When officers walked inside, he tried to slam it shut on officers again and resisted arrest.  After a struggle he was taken into custody and taken to jail for DUI testing.  Danczak refused to submit to a breath test once at the jail.

He was booked for two counts of Trespassing, two counts of Assault, felony Operate Vehicle to Avoid Arrest (2nd subsequent offense), Failure to Furnish Information in Accident, DUI, 3rd Offense with Refusal, Obstructing a Peace Officer, felony Resist Arrest (2nd Subsequent offense), and Smoking in a Prohibited Place.

The hit-and-run accident caused about $100 in damage to a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville that was hit by Danczak’s 2012  Impala.  Damage to his vehicle is estimated at $900.
