Health Department Reports Five More Deaths, 271 COVID-19 Cases

Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird and the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD) today announced that five more residents have died from COVID-19.  The total number of deaths in Lancaster County is now 115.

The deaths included a man in his 60s who was hospitalized and four who were in long-term care facilities – one woman in her 60s and two women and a man in their 80s. On behalf of the City, Mayor Gaylor Baird expresses condolences to their families and friends.

LLCHD reports 271 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Lancaster County today, bringing the community total to 19,466.

Recoveries: up from 5,591 to 5,660

Weekly positivity rate:

  • November 29 through December 5:  33.9 percent
  • December 6 through 10:  27.4 percent

Hospitalizations for COVID-19 positive patients: 130 with 81 from Lancaster County (three on ventilators) and 49 from other communities (13 on ventilators).
