An arrest is made in an assault case dating back to September 20th at the Walgreens at 83rd and Northern Lights Drive.

Two 16 year old boys were in the store and were accused by another customer of gang activity.  The boys left and the man followed them outside where he struck one of the boys causing him to fall to the ground and hit his head.  The man then kicked the boy while on the ground.  The teen was taken to a hospital by family and underwent surgery for a broken nose.  The boy continues to struggle with significant medical issues related to the head injury received from the assault.  There is also no indication the boys were involved in any kind of gang activity.

Investigators gathered information from store security and placed photos of the suspect on Crime Stoppers.  Several tips came in identifying the man as 29 year old Kevin McCaul as the person responsible for the attack.  Investigators were also able to tie a bank card used by the suspect inside the store to McCaul.

On Tuesday, December 22nd at 4 a.m., McCaul turned himself in to investigators and was booked for 1st degree assault.
