Just before 9 p.m. on December 27th, a witness called police saying two people were breaking into vehicles in the parking lot of Pham Motor Sports at 25th and State Fair Park Drive. An officer was in the area and arrived to see 37 year old Steven Howard standing near a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe. The officer watched as the vehicle erupted in flames and Howard walking away.
The officer chased down Howard on foot and was found a short distance away.
Video evidence was examined and Howard was arrested for 2nd degree arson.
