The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department today reports five more residents have died from COVID-19. The deaths included two men who were hospitalized, one in his 70s and one in his 80s, as well as three individuals in long-term care facilities–two men in their 90s and a woman in her 80s.
LLCHD reports 76 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Lancaster County today, bringing the community total to 23,239. The total number of deaths in Lancaster County is now 158. Recoveries are up from 7.047 to 7.177. The weekly positivity rate from December 27th through January 2nd was 33.7% and from January 2nd through 4th at 40.6%.
There are 106 people hospitalized with 64 from Lancaster County and 42 from other communities. Eight patients are on ventilators.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, shortness of breath, repeated shaking with chills, repeated muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell. If you have symptoms, please get tested. Testing is now open to all Lancaster County residents by appointment only.
