On December 18th, police were called to investigate the theft of a 2012 Honda Odyssey from the 500 block of Trail Ridge Drive. The suspect also took bank cards and started using them with a loss of $130 by the owner. Officers also used video surveillance footage to identify the suspect at 21 year old Noah Miller.
On January 2nd at 11:35 a.m., police were called to investigate the theft of a 2017 Ford Fusion in the 3100 block of North 70th Street.
On January 3rd at 11:17 a.m., police were called to investigate a package theft. Using video surveillance footage, officers identified the stolen vehicle from the previous theft and Noah Miller. Officers searched the area and found the stolen vehicle near North 14th and Superior. As officers attempted to make a stop, the driver took off. Officers did not pursue the vehicle.
Officers found the vehicle abandoned at North 9th and Adams. Officers set up a perimeter and a police dog was sent in. Miller was found in a back yard and the keys to the stolen vehicle were found nearby.
Miller was taken into custody without further incident and booked for theft by unlawful taking, two counts of unauthorized use of a financial transaction device, possession of stolen property and flee to avoid arrest.
Police note that Miller had been arrested for various misdemeanors and felonies 24 times in the past twelve months.
