Lincoln Police are investigating a break-in and vandalism spree at the Hillcrest Country Club at 9401 O Street.

Officers arrived at 6:30 a.m. on January 4th and spoke with a manager who reported that several windows had been broken in the Pro Shop.  He reported that a garage door had been pried open and that was the likely entry point into the building.

The manager was able to retrieve security video that showed three males entering the building, damaging property and stealing items that included a hand cart, backpacks, gloves, cash, alcohol and a beverage golf cart.  The estimated loss of items take in over $9,000.

The suspects also disconnected security cameras and other electronic devices.  They caused an estimated $4,000 in damages to windows, doors, lockers, televisions, computer monitors and tablets.  Officers also found that lighter fluid had been poured on a desk and several matches had been lit in an attempt to start a fire.  Entry to the locker room resulted in damage to about 40 wooden lockers.  Country Club officials continue evaluate damage.  Individual loss to patrons who may have had items in lockers is not yet known.

The males were seen leaving in the beverage golf cart that was later found at 98th and A Street near a trail head.  Officers were able to identify the tree males from the security video as a 13 year old, a 14 year old and a 15 year old.  The golf cart was just a few blocks from the 15 year old’s home.  They were contacted and interviewed by officers.

The teens were arrested for burglary and criminal mischief.
