Another member of Nebraska’s Congressional Delegation will vote to certify today’s electoral college result.
In a statement, Senator Deb Fischer says she will affirm the electoral college results.
“As a United States Senator, I swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution. I will uphold my oath and vote to affirm the decision of the Electoral College,” said Senator Fischer.
She supported President Trump in both elections but his legal team “failed to make the case in court to any judge, including some appointed by President Trump, or to criminal investigators, that widespread voter fraud existed sufficient to overturn election results in any state.”
She joins her republican colleague Ben Sasse. Congressman Don Bacon and Jeff Fortenberry haven’t publicly said what they’ll do while Adrian Smith is objecting.
