Two Arrests Made Garage Break-In Driving Stolen Car

On January 7th around 9 a.m., a victim reported that someone broke into his garage in the 4000 block of Randolph between December 30th and January 6th.  Numerous tools, a handgun, and his 2000 silver Buick Century were stolen.  The total loss was over $6000.

On January 8th around 2 p.m., investigators saw the stolen vehicle at a gas station at 33rd and Holdrege in the gas lane.  Investigators contacted the driver and informed him that the vehicle was stolen.  29 year old Charles Tomes was taken into custody.  Then, 21 year old Aryadne Fenin,  arrived back at the vehicle and reported that the vehicle had been given to them by a family member and they had been driving it for weeks.

Officers located three bags of suspected methamphetamine in the center console of the vehicle.  There was a backpack located in the back seat that had several glass pipes with methamphetamine residue located inside.

The victim was contacted and identified several tools in the vehicle as the ones stolen from his garage.  Tomes and Fenin were arrested for felony Theft by Receiving and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
