The COVID-19 Risk Dial was lowered Tuesday by the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department from Red to Orange, or High Elevated risk for transmission of the COVID-19 virus.  Health Director Pat Lopez and Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird made the announcement at the Mayor’s weekly news conference.

As a result, an updated Directed Health Measure will go into effect Friday, January 22nd which will include some loosening of some of the limitations on bars, restaurants and other gatherings.  (This will be updated when the DHM is released)

Also announced was a vaccination clinic at Pinnacle Bank Arena this Friday for the remainder of the front line medical care works in Phase 1A.  In addition plans are underway for a series of large vaccination clinics that will be set up for those in other phases when vaccines become available.

The Health Department will be working with medical institutions and private medical practices to staff the clinics in a cooperative effort.

A registry is also being setup where people in Phase 1B can begin the process of registering on-line or via phone.  More details will be forthcoming in the days.
