The Nebraska Department of Labor has released unemployment claim statistics for the week of January 31 – February 6.

There were 187 fewer new unemployment claims compared to the week ending January 30.  That was the only decline in the weekly report.

New Pandemic Unemployment Assistance claims increased by 7 compared to the week before and went from 14 to 21.

Continued unemployment claims increased by 355 compared to January 24th – 30th.  Those numbers went from 15.353 to 15.708.

Continued Pandemic Unemployment Assistance claims increased by 1,050.  There were 2,283 claims filed for the week ending January 30th compared to 3,333 filed the ween ending February 6th.

Benefit payments totaled $8.5 million for the week ending January 30th. Payments totaled $8.3 million for the week ending February 6th.
