Members of the Lincoln-Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force had stopped a Jeep Compass on I-80 just before midnight on Thursday, January 11th for swerving and crossing traffic lanes. The vehicle and driver were suspected of drug activity and inside they found 1355.1 grams of ,methamphetamine with a street value of approximately $120,000. While conducting that traffic stop investigators saw saw a 2016 Chrysler Town and Country minivan had also crossed lane lines and swerved. .
A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle near mile marker 412. and the driver, 39 year old Jeffry Hogan of Colorado allowed officers to search him and the vehicle. In a pocket they found a pill bottle with a crushed up pill and a straw inside. Hogan was then taken into custody.
During a search of the vehicle investigators found 218 grams of methamphetamine and a bag of pills believed to contain fentanyl. Also in the vehicle was a loaded 45 caliber handgun and $5,000 in cash. In the trunk another laded 9mm handgun was located.
Hogan was booked for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of a firearm while violating a drug law, two counts of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession with intent to deliver a schedule 1,2.3 controlled substance and possession of money while violating a drug law.
