An arrest is made from a case dating back to January 1st. Lincoln Police were called to the Super Saver at 26th and Cornhusker on a report of a shoplifting. Employees reported that a man stole alcohol. he was later identified as 44 year old Farril Booth. Officers found Booth at the Super 8 motel lot at 25th and Cornhusker. Booth fled from the officer, and when the officer attempted to placed him in custody, he punched the officer multiple times in the face and fought free. The officer chased Booth through the parking lot of multiple businesses and down into a nearby creek, but Booth escaped.
Officers recovered a plastic baggie containing a substance that pre-tested positive for methamphetamine. Officers obtained video surveillance from the Super Saver, and another officer identified the individual as Booth from prior interactions.
On Monday, March 8, 2021, at approximately 11:01 p.m., officers responded to the 4300 block of Huntington Drive on a report of a trespassing. Upon arrival, officers contacted Booth sleeping in the hallway of the building. Booth gave a false name, but officers used a mobile AFIS to take Booth’s fingerprints and identify him.
Officers cited and lodged Booth for several offenses related to multiple incidents: Assault on an Officer, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Controlled Substance, several theft charges, trespassing, false reporting and for multiple warrants related to theft and failure to appear in court.
