On March 13th around 1:30 am, police were called to the Railyard at 300 Canopy Street on a fight involving possibly 15 people. Security from the Railyard advised that one of the men involved in Lincoln Police were called to the Railyard at 300 Canopy Street around 1:30 Saturday morning to investigate a report of a fight involving around 15 people. Security from the Railyard told officers that one of the men in the fight possibly had a gun.
As officers arrived, they saw a man walking away that matched the description of the person possibly carrying a gun. The officer saw him reach into the waistband of his pants and a security guard was able to see there was a gun and alerted the officer. As the officer approached the man he started running. The officer chased him into a fenced construction area near Pinnacle Bank Arena. It was there the man was taken into custody. Officers found the man was in possession of 5.5 grams of marijuana in an area where the man tried to hide and a loaded Glock 380 handgun.
The firearm was stolen from the area of 10th and New Hampshire on August 21, 2020 from an unlocked vehicle.
27 year old Jimmy Nguyen was a convicted felon. He was booked for r Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Obstruct Government Operations, and 2nd Offense Possession of Marijuana.
