Lincoln Police didn’t have to go very far to arrest a 41 year old woman accused of kicking in the door of another woman’s apartment and stealing a key. Officer Erin Spilker says around 6:00 am Tuesday police were called to an apartment in the 800 block of N 26th Street on a burglary in progress.  When officers arrived, they contacted the victim, a 47-year-old woman, who reported that she observed a female to kick in the door of her apartment and enter it.

The woman threw items around the apartment and took a set of keys before leaving. 41-year-old Leanne Curiel was found by officers in the parking lot of the apartment complex and identified as the person responsible.  She was found to be holding the keys in her hand when contacted by police.  Officers located several plastic bags, syringes, and a pipe with suspected methamphetamine residue on her.

The residue field tested positive for methamphetamine.  Curiel was arrested for Burglary and Possession of Methamphetamine.
