For the second Freeze Warning, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 27 expected.

The Freeze Warning area covers portions of east central and southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa.

Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above- ground pipes to protect them from freezing.

Additional Info:

Snow will come to an end early this morning across southeast Nebraska. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in place with 1 to 3 inches of snow possible near the Kansas border.

Temperatures will also drop into the upper 20s to lower 30s before sunrise posing a hazard for any sensitive vegetation. Temperatures will again bottom out in the upper 20s both Wednesday and Thursday mornings.
